The first heavy snowfall of the season fell in the Centennial Mountains. An estimated 22 inches of snow fell at the White Elephant SNOTEL site with 11.3 inches at the Island Park SNOTEL. The Island Park COOP observer recorded 8.2 inches of snow with 6 inches near Macks Inn.

Wider weather episode

The first significant snowfall of the season fell in the southeast Idaho mountains. Some high elevation SNOTEL sites measured estimated amounts over a foot with 6 inches in the Island Park area and a few inches at some low elevation sites. Some accidents reported in Fremont County.
