A heavy wet snow accumulated 2 to 6 inches across the area with the higher totals at elevations above 1200 feet.

Wider weather episode

A slow moving cold front meandered across northern NY during the afternoon and evening hours of December 10th, eventually moving across Vermont during the overnight into the morning hours of December 11th. In addition, a weak area of low pressure developing along that front and moving across eastern Massachusetts during the December 11th.

A mild, wet December 10th slowly turned snowy from northwest to southeast and higher elevations to lower elevations during the overnight hours of December 10th into the morning hours of December 11th before ending by early afternoon. Snow was heaviest in elevations above 1000-1200 feet in northern Vermont's Green mountains. The snow was a heavy, wet snow that caused nearly 10,000 customers without power and hazardous travel conditions.
