Extreme(D3) drought conditions continued through the month across the entire zone. The Cooperative Observer in Cliff reported 0.53 inches of precipitation which was 0.42 inches below normal.
Wider weather episode
October continued the run of below normal rainfall for southwest New Mexico which kept Severe(D2) to Exceptional(D4) drought conditions going through the month.
