Event narrative

Exceptional(D4) drought continued over the northeast portion of the zone while the remainder of the zone continued to be in Extreme(D3) drought. The Antelope Wells Cooperative Observer reported 0.75 inches of precipitation which was 0.02 inches above normal.

Wider weather episode

October continued the run of below normal rainfall for southwest New Mexico which kept Severe(D2) to Exceptional(D4) drought conditions going through the month.
