The entire zone remained in Extreme(D3) drought through the entire month. The Elk Cooperative Observer reported 0.80 inches which was 0.70 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

October continued the run of below normal rainfall for southwest New Mexico which kept Severe(D2) to Exceptional(D4) drought conditions going through the month.
