Low pressure passed through the southern prairie provinces of Canada and a trough moved through western and central North Dakota. Winds were already gusty with this system. Rain showers developed along the trough and mixed down even higher winds from aloft. The strongest wind gust of 84 mph occurred near Fryburg in Billings County.
