Wider weather episode
A surface high pressure ridge built over Lake Erie from the Upper MS Valley during the morning of the 31st and was accompanied by a land breeze convergence zone just north of the OH shore. The relatively-strong updraft of a cumuliform cloud along the convergence zone spawned a brief non-mesocyclonic waterspout amidst sufficient low-level moisture and lake-induced instability offshore Vermilion.
