KTVI provided a report of winds gusting to an estimated 60 mph along the leading edge of a thunderstorm.

A mesoscale convective complex caused severe thunderstorms to develop in west central, south central, and southwest Illinois during the afternoon and evening hours of August 6th. There were numerous reports of severe hail up to 1.50 and a few reports of severe wind gusts.
