Gale force gusts began at 1206 PM and continued to 1230 PM. The location in Laguna Madre is just south of Baffin Bay, which was where the observing platform is (immediately

north of this location, as proxy.

The wider storm

A line/cluster of strong thunderstorms developed along the Coastal Bend and surged southward along the Lower Texas coast, producing gale-force wind gusts along Laguna Madre and the Lower Texas Gulf waters in spots out toward 60 nautical miles during the afternoon of October 5th. Brief torrential rainfall and frequent lightning accompanied the storms, but there were no known damage reports.
