Event narrative

Broadcast media shared map camera images by Villa Muneco B18, close to Benjamin Rivera Noriega Airport, showing widespread flooding affecting PR-250, making this road impassable.

Wider weather episode

Moisture pulled into the region by TC Tammy (by that time well north of the area), in combination with an upper-level trough, a frontal boundary and a pre-frontal trough, produced numerous showers and thunderstorms across the islands. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain were observed across the northern, eastern, and central portions of Puerto Rico. Several Debris Flow episodes and at least 1 case of wind damage were reported. Swells from Tammy also produced hazardous marine and coastal conditions, resulting in coastal flood in several northern areas.
