Event narrative

Strong winds impacted portions of the Great Salt Lake Desert and Mountains as a weather system moved through the region. A peak gust of 67 mph was observed at the WENDOVER PEAK mesonet station, with other lesser gusts in excess of 58 mph, and several hours of sustained winds in excess of 40 mph. Additionally, the Wendover Port of Entry mesonet station recorded a gust of 59 mph, and the I-80 @ mp 1 mesonet station recorded a peak gust of 66 mph.

Wider weather episode

A cool season storm in the middle to late portion of November moved through Utah, resulting in multiple waves of widespread rain, snow, high winds, and isolated flash flooding.
