Event narrative

Up to 6 inches of rain fell in a short amount of time causing flash flooding across the southern half of Madison County. U.S. Highway 67 was flooded in several locations from the Madison/Wayne County line northward to Highway N. Also, Highway C near the intersection with County Road 433 was flooded, about 3 miles northwest of Saco.

Wider weather episode

A large complex of storms moved south across southeast Missouri with very heavy rainfall. Some flash flooding was reported in southern Madison County.
