Deep troughing pivoted over the Great Lakes 10/6 into 10/7 as an associated cyclone trekked across Ontario. An attendant cold front swung across northern Michigan during the late afternoon/early evening, supporting a line of showers that worked across Lake Michigan. As these showers began to move overland, the combination of cool air temperatures in the 40s and relatively warm Great Lakes water temperatures supported the development of a waterspout over Little Traverse Bay.
