Showers and thunderstorms brought much needed rain in October before dry conditions returned late in the month through November. From October 26th through November 21st, less than an inch of precipitation fell across the region. On the 21st, the Drought Monitor upgraded much of Florence County (all but far west) into the Severe Drought (D2) category while the far west was classified Moderate Drought (D1). For the month, Florence only reported 0.69 inches of precipitation which was 1.16 inches below normal or 37% of normal.
