Emergency Manager measured 7.5 inches of snow 2 miles north of Pomona in Franklin County.

Wider weather episode

A winter storm brought heavy wet snow to much of the state of Kansas beginning on January 8th lasting into the morning of January 9th. Northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph along with the snow caused additional impacts including blowing and drifting of roadways making travel more hazardous.
