Grundy County EM reported 12 inches of snow near South Lineville in Mercer County.

Wider weather episode

A large mid latitude extratropical cyclone moved across the central US on Jan 8th into Jan 9th, producing a large swath of 5+ inch snow across Missouri. Snow fell most of the day on Jan 8th, but with surface temperatures above freezing accumulations were marginal. The heaviest snow fell in the early morning hours of Jan 9th just to the west of the cyclone dry slot, and with surface temperatures falling into the 20s, snow accumulated very quickly. Snow came to an end from west to east on the afternoon of Jan 9th.
