Event narrative

There were a few vehicular accidents that occurred during the morning hours in dense fog with an advisory in effect at the time of all incidents. Unfortunately these crashes did result in an injury and one fatality. Hutchinson Municipal Airport reported dense fog at the time of incidents with visibility reduced to a 1/4 mile or less at the time.

Wider weather episode

During the morning hours of November 7th, dense fog covered much of central, south central and parts of southeast Kansas. Airport observations indicated visibility was less than 1/4 of a mile in all of these areas. A dense fog advisory was in effect during this time. There were multiple vehicular accidents reported including some with injuries and unfortunately one fatality.
