Drought conditions improved from extreme drought (D3) to severe drought (D2) in the eastern half of the county. The western half of the county improved from extreme drought (D3) to moderate drought (D1).

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions across the area improved across the board. In some areas there was significant improvement from severe drought (D2) to abnormally dry (D0). Only a handful of counties in Central Kansas remain in extreme drought at the end of December 2023.
