Wyoming Department of Transportation site Herrick Lane, 13 miles west northwest of Laramie on Interstate 80 reported peak wind gust at 11:46 PM MST on 1/17. Quealy Dome, 14 miles northeast of Centennial on Interstate 80 and UPR site Rock River, 1 mile south of Rock River also reported wind gusts in excess of 58 mph during this timeframe.

Wider weather episode

Strong winds returned to the wind prone areas of southeast Wyoming the evening of 17 January and continued into 18 January.
