Trained spotter in Sibley reports 1 inch ice accumulation. Large tree limbs/branches snapped under the weight of the ice, and power lines down in Barnes county.

Wider weather episode

This event lasted for several days, and up to an inch of ice accretion was reported in several counties across eastern North Dakota. Numerous locations were without power for over a week in the southern Red River Valley, along with slick travel conditions lasting long after the precipitation stopped falling.
