Wider weather episode

Intermittent light snow from Saturday November 25th through Sunday November 26th resulted in slippery road conditions for the busy Thanksgiving holiday travel weekend. Minnesota Department of Transportation and broadcast media reported many slide offs and minor accidents across southeast Minnesota. While snowfall rates remained under 0.1 inches per hour for much of the weekend, a scattered increase to 0.25 inches per hour Sunday evening resulted in a temporary decrease in visibilities. The longer duration resulted in a widespread 0.5 to 1.5 inches of overall accumulations by Sunday night. Highest snowfall reports were 2.0 inches near Stewartville (Olmsted County), and 1.5 inches near Caledonia (Houston County) and in Minnesota City (Winona County).
