Wider weather episode

Intermittent light snow from Saturday November 25th through Sunday November 26th resulted in slippery road conditions for the busy Thanksgiving holiday travel weekend. Law enforcement and broadcast media reported widespread vehicle incidents through the weekend. While snowfall rates remained under 0.1 inches per hour for most of the weekend, a scattered increase to 0.25 inches per hour Sunday evening temporarily reduced visibilities in spots. The longer duration resulted in a widespread 1.0 to 2.0 inches of overall accumulations by Sunday night. Highest snowfall reports were 2.8 inches near Strawberry Point (Clayton County) and 2.0 inches near Harpers Ferry (Allamakee County), Elkader (Clayton County), and the Town of Fayette (Fayette County).
