Flat ice accumulations of 0.1 inches or less were observed.

Wider weather episode

A stationary surface boundary draped across northern NY/VT, during the evening and overnight hours of January 24th, was the focusing mechanism for moisture that entrained along the boundary and across the area. Temperatures were below freezing across much of northern NY allowed for several hours of light freezing rain during the evening and overnight hours. Freezing rain was more predominate and lasted longer in the northern St. Lawrence Valley as temperatures remained in the lower to mid 20s. Flat ice accumulations were generally 0.25 to nearly 0.5 inches within the St. Lawrence Valley and quickly dropped to around a tenth of an inch in the Adirondacks. The main impacts were icy, hazardous travel.
