Wind gust was measured on a personal weather station at Forte Shores Drive about 1 mile south-southwest of Washington Park in the Pamlico River.

A cold front swept eastwards across the Mid Atlantic and Southeast on the morning of November 22nd. Out ahead and along this eastward moving cold front, widespread rain and thunderstorm activity was noted with a few of these storms becoming strong to severe in nature. The strongest of these storms brought strong winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rain to the Pamlico/Pungo Rivers, Pamlico Sound and the coastal waters south of Cape Hatteras.
