Event narrative

A snowfall accumulation of 33.0 inches with 1.91 inches of snow water equivalent was measured at Snowbird. Other snowfall observations included 28.0 inches with 1.80 inches of snow water equivalent recorded by the Alta-Collins automated weather station at Alta Ski Area, 23.0 inches with 1.40 inches of snow water equivalent recorded by the Brighton-Crest automated weather station at Brighton, and 19.0 inches with 1.26 inches of snow water equivalent at Solitude Mountain Resort.

Wider weather episode

A series of storm systems between December 7 and December 9 brought accumulating snow to northern Utah, with the most accumulation in the northern mountains.
