Dense fog was observed across the Upper Yampa River Basin, including at the Steamboat Springs Airport - Bob Adams Field where visibility was reduced to less than one quarter of a mile several times over the course of a two hour period.

With quiet conditions in control on the morning of the 22nd, moisture trapped in valley locations across northwestern Colorado led to the development of dense fog for a few hours.
