Snow Squall. A CoCoRaHS observer near Van Buskirk reported a glaze of ice on wooden surfaces in addition to snow accumulation in their morning observation, but without any freezing rain. This suggests a flash freeze may have occurred as a snow squall passed through.
Wider weather episode
Snow squalls impacted portions of northwestern Wisconsin on December 17, 2022, as a quick moving cold front moved across the Northland during the evening hours. A few squalls brought heavy snow and very low visibilities that were very brief but impactful to areas along the US2 and US53 corridors.
