The passage of a strong cold front, with deep low pressure offshore and strong high pressure over the Rocky Mountains, brought high winds to the southern Shasta Valley.
Peak south to southeast winds of 48 mph with gusts to 65 mph were measured at the Weed Airport RAWS, and 39 mph with gusts to 63 mph at North Weed.
