An average of 4 inches of snow fell in the ridges of eastern Tucker County the morning of December 6th.
Wider weather episode
A passing shortwave over the Ohio River Valley caused 1 to 4 inches of snow accumulation in the higher elevations of the region during the evening of December 5th to the early morning hours of December 6th. The lower elevations had rain mixed with snow and minor accumulation (less than an inch). However, the higher terrain was all snow; Preston had 1.0 to 2.2 inches and Tucker had 4-5 inches.
