SNOW SQUALL. A PennDOT RWIS station on Route 54 on Natalie Mountain near Kulpmont observed a sharp drop in visibility to around 1/4 mile in a snow squall.

Wider weather episode

Snow showers and squalls developed during the day in an anomalously cold airmass that advected in on a brisk northwesterly wind behind a departing winter storm. A few of the squalls dropped visibility significantly and posed a flash-freeze threat.
