Visibility of less than a quarter mile observed at the Ak-Chin Regional Airport in Casa Grande due to dense fog.

Wider weather episode

The combination of moist boundary layer conditions due to rainfall activity 36-48 hours prior and clear skies and near calm winds resulted in the development of widespread dense fog conditions during the early through mid-morning hours on the 24th. Many areas in the Phoenix metro area as well as southward into Pinal County reported visibilities of a quarter mile or less. Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport at one point had to perform a ground stop due to the low visibility.
