Lake effect snowfall of 2 to 5 inches were common but areas of 5 to 8 inches and a stripe of 12 inches occurred as well. Some specific snowfall totals include; 13 inches in Heuvelton, 12 inches in Gouverneur, 10 inches in Fowler, 9 inches in Morristown and Russell.

Wider weather episode

A lake effect snow band streaming off Lake Ontario entered southwest St. Lawrence county during the early morning hours of February 18th and eventually shifted south and east of the region by mid-evening. A broad area of 2 to 5 inches of snow fell but some localized amounts around 12 inches occurred in southwest St. Lawrence county.
