Observer 3 miles south of St Maries recorded 9 inches of snow over the period. Half on inch fell on December 1. 6.7 inches was measured on December 2. Another 1.8 inches fell on the 3. Other snow reports near Cataldo and Pinehurst measured 4 and 3.5 inches.
Wider weather episode
A series of shortwaves tracked across North Idaho Panhandle bringing several days of light to moderate snow fall. Snowfall was heaviest in mountains with amounts ranging from 8 to 12 inches. The low lands received amounts ranging from 3 to 8 inches.
