Klondike Highway was closed due to heavy snow and equipment failures. Skagway Police relayed later to the public that, due to considerable snowfall on the pass, avalanche danger is high and it is not safe for DOT to work in the dark.

A storm force front moved into the region, bringing wind, rain, and upper elevation snow to the Haines and Klondike Highways.
