A mix of snow and freezing rain overspread the area during the morning of January 22nd, before becoming mainly freezing rain during the afternoon and evening hours. Precipitation continued into the early morning hours of January 23rd, eventually changing over to rain. Ice accumulations between one tenth and two tenths of an inch were reported. Car accidents and slide-offs were reported.

A mix of light snow and light freezing rain overspread southwest Lower Michigan during the morning and early afternoon of January 22nd, and a larger area of freezing rain moved in from the late afternoon of January 22nd to the early morning hours of January 23rd. Ice accumulations between one tenth and two tenths of an inch were reported. The freezing rain lead to hazardous travel conditions.
