Event narrative

Several mesonet stations across downtown Juneau measured peak gusts in excess of 60mph most of the daytime on the 27th. The highest wind gust was measured at the South Douglas Harbor profiler, topping out at 87 mph at 1126am. The ANG dock saw a peak gust of 77 mph at 103pm. The following week a resident of the Mendenhall Valley reported that two trees came down on her property from this event.

Wider weather episode

Taku winds set up over downtown Juneau. The event was frontal driven as a gale to storm force low moved up the coast from just west of Haida Gwaii.
