Multiple instances of downed trees across Northern Westchester County, NY, some with road closures, were reported by the Department of Highways. This included, in Local Standard Time, Goldens Bridge at 543 AM, Pleasantville at 616 AM, Cross River at 625 AM, Pound Ridge at 701 AM, Armonk at 744 AM, South Salem at 752 AM and Millwood at 830 AM.

Wider weather episode

A strong area of low pressure moved north along the U.S. east coast and passed through the region during the morning of December 18, 2023. The pressure gradient tightened as the center of the storm approached, producing high winds over Southeastern New York during the morning hours.
