A measured wind gust of 64 mph occurred at a mesonet station located at Larchmont Harbor, NY at 500 AM Local Standard Time. A measured wind gust of 58 mph occurred at a mesonet station located at Disbrow Park, NY at 455 AM Local Standard Time. In addition, the Department of Highways reported a tree down on the Hutchinson Parkway, north of Cross County Parkway in Bronxville, NY at 629 AM Local Standard Time.

A strong area of low pressure moved north along the U.S. east coast and passed through the region during the morning of December 18, 2023. The pressure gradient tightened as the center of the storm approached, producing high winds over Southeastern New York during the morning hours.
