A trained spotter reported a fallen tree on Route 9 Southbound in Haddam, CT at 430 am Local Standard Time, blocking the left lane.

A strong area of low pressure moved north along the U.S. east coast and passed through the region during the morning of December 18, 2023. The pressure gradient tightened as the center of the storm approached, producing high winds over Southern Connecticut during the morning hours.
