Event narrative

A winter storm brought an initial period rain to Adams County during the late evening hours of February 12th before producing 5 to 7 inches of snowfall throughout the early morning hours of February 13, 2024.

Wider weather episode

A quick-moving area of low pressure pushed from the Lower Ohio Valley across the central Appalachians and off the Delmarva Coast from the evening of February 12 into the morning of February 13, 2024. This system pushed rain into Pennsylvania that quickly changed over to wet snow from north to south. The swath of heaviest snowfall extended from the middle Susquehanna Valley eastward into the Poconos, where 7 to 12 inches of snow fell.
