Snowfall accumulations to three to eight inches fell across western Greenbrier county, including a measurement of 5.0 inches of snow in Quinwood. Key impacts: traffic delays and accidents, as well as isolated power outages.
Wider weather episode
A cold front ahead of a very cold airmass moved westward and into the Central Appalachians and Mid Atlantic through January 19. This cold front spawned areas of precipitation which transitioned to snow. Northwest flow behind the front also contributed to lingering upslope snow showers following the frontal passage in Western Greenbrier and Mercer counties.
