Around one inch of rain fell in the area. Vehicles pulled over on the shoulder and center medians of Northbound US 101 at Ralph Lane due to heavy rainfall reducing visibility.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms developed on March 6 and caused flooding in several areas. The most intense flooding occurred near Salinas and Prunedale, where a stationary thunderstorm developed around 12 Noon. This storm produced torrential rainfall with one observer in North Salinas reporting 1 of rain in 25 minutes.
