Previous snowfall melted on the road and temperatures dipped below freezing during the early morning hours of March 20, 2024. This led to freezing on bridges and overpasses in Tioga County, where a two-vehicle accident occurred closing State Route 49 in Westfield Township for approximately two hours. There were three injuries reported due to the accident.

A warm front moved across north-central Pennsylvania during the early morning hours of March 20, 2024 bringing some light precipitation before a cold front moved across all of central Pennsylvania later in the day producing some weaker snow squalls throughout the afternoon and evening hours.
