A clipper system moving across central New York brought a period of snow that began during the afternoon of the 15th. The snow was briefly moderate to heavy in nature as the cold front with this system moved through. In the wake of the clipper and associated cold front, lake effect snow continued into the morning hours of the 16th. Strong winds developed across the area behind the cold front that lead to reports of blowing and drifting snow.
