Winds at Nome increased the night of the 6th and during the day of the 7th of January. A peak wind gust of 60 mph was recorded the afternoon of the 7th.

Wider weather episode

A front associated with a strong area of low pressure moving north through the Bering Sea brought blizzard conditions to the Yukon Delta and High Winds to the Seward Peninsula.
