Union Pacific railroad crossing was closed on Fortuna Rd between Highway 95 and 24th St due to flooding and erosion. No damages or injuries were reported.

Wider weather episode

A shortwave trough moving across the Desert Southwest combined with well-above normal moisture, with precipitable water values peaking at 1.0-1.2, resulted in a large swath of rain with embedded thunderstorms moving across portions of southeast CA and southwest AZ during the afternoon hours on the 22nd. Rainfall rates with this band ranged between 0.10-0.50 according to doppler radar estimates, resulting in total amounts of between 1-1.25 within a period of three hours. The rainfall was enough to result in areas of flooding.
