Event narrative

Snowfall totals in St. Lawrence county were generally 2 to 6 inches with the higher totals in the Adirondacks of southeast St. Lawrence.

Wider weather episode

An area of low pressure moved from the southeast United States on March 22nd up the eastern seaboard to the NJ/DE coast by midday on March 24th and offshore by Cape Cod late at night on March 24th.

Snow overspread northern New York around midnight on March 23rd and exited by late afternoon. The higher snowfall accumulations were across Essex, southern Clinton and southern Franklin counties. Snowfall accumulations ranged from 2 to 3 inches across the St. Lawrence valley and 8 to 12 inches across Essex county with 3 to 6 inches in between.

Impacts were minimal due to the dry nature of the snow, other than routine travel impacts.
