A strong area of low pressure crossed the central Great Lakes producing a period of damaging winds across the region. Damaging wind gusts caused damage in every zone of the NWS Buffalo County Warning Area.
Notable wind gusts include: 79 MPH at the Watertown Airport ASOS, 74 MPH at the Dunkirk Airport ASOS and 70 MPH at the Buffalo Airport ASOS. Damage during this event included two tractor trailers that rolled over due to strong winds, and numerous trees and wires down across all of Western and North Central NY.
