Observer estimated 9 inches of snow 5 miles Southwest of Joel. Another report of 7.5 inches was observed in Potlatch.

Wider weather episode

For January 17 through 19, a Low brought another round of widespread snow to the Idaho Panhandle 6 to 12 inches. It was followed by a period of freezing rain on the January 20 and 21. Freezing rain amounts ranged from a trace to two tenths of an inch.
