Event narrative

Flash flooding resulted flooding along Piney Creek Road near Groveton. A man drowned in the floodwaters when attempting to retrieve items from his stranded car. Time was estimated based on radar and nearby flood reports as the man's body was not found until the next day.

Wider weather episode

A series of disturbances moved across the area resulting in numerous flash flood events that resulted in the flooding of many homes, extensive high water rescues, and a flood-related fatality.
